About Mrak

Craft with a personal signature.

Mrak is a stonecraft workshop from Trviž near Pazin. Since 1993, we have developed our relationship with stone through workshop experience, generational knowledge and close collaboration with the people we make for.

In Trviž since 1993

Our work is rooted in Istria and in long experience of working stone. Years of practice have taught us that a good result is not made only of material and dimensions: understanding the space, attending to a junction and having the right conversation before each decision matter just as much.

Knowledge passed on

To us, generational knowledge is not a closed way of working, but a foundation for a new project. It helps us recognise a stone’s character, assess the relationship between surface and edge, and remain patient when a solution needs further development. Each brief is still considered anew, according to its own use and context.

Personal care for the work

A boutique approach means not leaving a project to generic formulas. With private clients, architects, designers and investors, we speak plainly about the idea, material and details that determine the final impression. We want decisions to be understood and the work to be right for the space and those who will use it.

From Istria, for distinct spaces

Trviž is our starting point, while materials and collaboration are considered according to the needs of each project. Local stone and materials from international sources can open different possibilities; the final choice is always checked through a sample, availability and the intended application.

Good to know

Who does Mrak work with?

We work with private clients, architects, designers and investors. A project can begin with a clear drawing or with an initial idea that needs to be developed together.

What does a boutique approach mean to you?

It means personal attention to the project: time to discuss material and detail, clearer decisions before making, and work that suits the real space and how it will be used.
